I just realized that the only area of my life where I don’t make lists are my workouts. I love to-do lists and planners–I have lists at work, lists at home, and the gratifying feeling of crossing tasks off is just so fulfilling. So as I’m struggling to fit fitness into my busy life, I decided it was time to make a list!
I scheduled Monday through Sunday with quick, effective workouts to ensure I avoid that defeated feeling at the end of the week when I realize I was too busy.
This is my Weekly Workout, tailored to my individual fitness goals and time constraints. It’s crucial to set intentions for everything we do–even (and especially) workouts. Writing them down and making them tangible can help do actually get them done.
These workouts can take as little as 5 minutes for one round or 15 minutes for 3 rounds, but will leave you feeling strong and accomplished.
FYI, I am not currently a certified personal trainer, but often sound like one since I used to be! Always consult a physician before embarking on an exercise program, and be aware of your ability levels.
If you’ve been following me, you know running has taken a backseat as we get our new home in order, so running is always scheduled in on the weekend! That will soon change as the weather gets nicer, the summer run series starts up, and school comes to an end–> #teacherlife
Right now I’m focusing on lower body and core to get myself ready for the summer season of running. There’s a lot of work to be done, but making a list to stay focused is a logical and effective start to getting there!
Do you love lists?
Do you use any specific planner? I’m always looking for a great one!

I am a list fanatic! Maybe because I get such a thrill to cross something off the list! But, it helps keep you so focused and calm! And, I think a lot more productive and successful. Pen and paper are all you need, too!

Yay for lists! I’m usually techie all the way, but when it comes to getting stuff done, I need it in my face always!
It’s so funny that you talk about lists because I’m big on lists and have been thinking I need to do a better job with writing everything down for my workouts! I love checking off things when I get them done and I have a training journal that I’m excited to start using!

I seriously need to find the best planner ever so I can organize all of my lists in one spot!
I don’t write down my workout details, but I do keep track of run vs. crosstrain vs. yoga days. And I track miles for my shoes 🙂 great tips!

Thanks! I’ve always been very loose about tracking details, but I think now with two kids and working full time it definitely helps me stay focused!
I love this–especially because it is the exact opposite of what I wrote about today, which is running free without a goal or pace! There are so many ways we get things done.

Lol! There’s a time for both! Running free is definitely refreshing at times!
I am a planner too! I like to have everything schedule and written down all in one place. I use the same schedule planner for life, workouts and blogging.

I love lists, and I love this list! I don’t have a workout list either, but it’s a great idea to just squeeze in some extra moves.

I was finding myself so lost in the short amount of time I have, I think writing it all down will be good!
I do love lists… And I don’t make them for my workouts either!
I’ll give these workouts a try because I have a lot of areas of weakness.
