My little baby turned one this past week and Saturday we celebrated her first year. After much deliberation about the party location (we did not have the space to host at home), we ended up at a local winery. We happened to live not far from Long Island’s vast ‘wine country’, and are regulars at one in particular. Osprey’s Dominion has always been welcoming, and their 4 acre field overlooking the grape vines is often filled with families enjoying live music and playing games. It was perfect.
I thought I’d take you through the party in snapshots of our menu. We had a sort of cocktail style party where each guest brought an appetizer of their choice.

I had to include a family photo! It was a beautiful event that we will remember forever 🙂
In other news, I ran 10 miles on Sunday (shocking, I know). The thing about living at the top of a hill though, is that I’m always running hills. I’m definitely reaping the benefits of strength, but I do need to do my next long run on some flats because I’m not getting a true measure of my pacing. I do have a 5k summer run series race Monday night, so it’ll be fun to test out my speed–especially since I missed my track workout last week.

What a wonderful place for a party. The food looks delicious. Enjoy those precious girls. I live in a hilly neighborhood too. You’d think I’d be good at them by now!

I love the idea of essentially a cocktail potluck! My son turned one 2 months ago, and I found it so bittersweet – happy birthday to your little lady!
