When it comes to apps, I value quality over quantity. I scour the Android marketplace (yes, I’m a Droid girl) for the perfect app to fit my needs. After a lengthy search, I usually download the app and mere minutes after experimenting with it–UNINSTALL!
So imagine my excitement when not only have I let this app live on my phone for about a week, I’m actually utilizing it, and its actually making a positive impact on my life!
The app is called Catch (www.catch.com) and basically it enables you to organize your life into streams (categories) while also being able to tag your lists, notes, whatever, for easy searchable access.
Right now I basically use Catch for lists. I was consistently forgetting at least one random item during my weekly Target trips, now with Catch, as soon as I think of an item I add it to my Target list. Target is in my ‘Home’ stream (along with and I also tag that list as #shopping. Since my phone is always at arms reach, I’ve built up a great habit of jotting down Catch notes as soon as they pop into my head. At the store, a quick glance at Catch enables me to always grab what I need while also looking like a high tech organizing guru.
There’s so much more that Catch can do that I haven’t dabbled in yet (record picture notes, voice notes, reminders, etc–and I’m pretty sure you can invite other users to share in a stream), but since using Catch has seem to become part of my life, I’ll probably utilize these at some point in the future. Also, creating an account at Catch.com gives you free cloud storage and the ability to sync with other devices. This worked for me after installing Catch on my Kindle Fire. The only feature I wish Catch had was a calendar to organize dates (the reminder feature kinda does that, but I wish there was a visible calendar to go with it).
Organizing my life with Catch has been a major asset to my life! What apps do you feel the same about?
