Leg Burning HIIT Workout

June 24, 2015 Michelle Homan 15 Comments

Wild Workout WednesdayWelcome to our Wild Workout Wednesday link up! Each week I link up with Annmarie from The Fit Foodie Mama, Angelena Marie from Angelena Marie: Happy, Healthy & Balanced, and Sarah at Creating Better Tomorrow to bring you workout ideas, motivation, inspiration and recipes to try. Join us for a wild workout each week by reading along or grab the button and link up if you have a fitness or healthy living post to share!

I have to admit–I don’t do legs.

There, I said it.

But my reason for never giving my legs any specific training is that I run–so that’s my leg work right? I suppose I could leave it at that, but how strong would my legs be if I threw a little HIIT workout at them every once in a while?

I created this Leg Burning HIIT Workout to hit the legs from all angles, but especially focus on hamstrings, glutes, and stabilizing muscles through plyometric moves.

Burn out your legs then head over to log #1MillionMinutes! http://wp.me/p1RWK4-qS #sweatpink #WildWorkoutWednesday

AND as an extra added bonus, today’s #1MillionMinutes theme is to ‘try a new move, class, or workout!’. So give this HIIT Workout a try, then head over and log your minutes!

See, I did most of the work for you there–except the actual workout 🙂

Even though this is a lower body focused HIIT workout, be sure to also focus on keeping your core stabilized during the movements and position your arms appropriately for added balance.

The Single Leg Toe Touches should be done with slow, controlled movement keeping a slight bend in the anchor leg.

One round of this HIIT is 5 minutes. Start there, perform multiple rounds, or even pair this workout with an upper body HIIT for a total body blast!

Enjoy! Then head over to fitapproach.com to log your minutes!

This looks like a great “leg day” workout! I also don’t enjoy doing legs! Upper body and core are my favs! Luckily I’m training for a 25k trail race right now so running is my leg day >:)

Nice! I need to try HIIT again, I did it for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it, even though it’s so tough!
