January Reflections + February Call to Action

February 1, 2017 Michelle Homan 5 Comments

Can you believe it’s February? I feels like just yesterday when we were all outlining our 2017 goals–where did the time go?

Hopefully, January was time well spent. Personally I’m happy with January, but to be sure I really want to take time to purposefully reflect. So going forward, I’m going to make a habit of reflecting at the end of each month and not just setting goals for the next month, but giving myself (and maybe you) a call to action.

A call to action is simply what it says–an instruction to take a specific act in order to achieve an aim. So basically, instead of vague goals, I’ll be focusing on one main call to action.

Let’s break it down:

Reflect on your month and give yourself a call to action moving forward! #sweatpink

CrossFit

Going into January I knew I’d be starting the 6-Week CrossFit Challenge. With that being said, my goal was to simply get strong. The challenge started on January 23rd and I am loving it. I’m loving the physical and mental challenge and the competition with myself. As of now, I’m in week 2, so clearly it’s too soon to achieve that goal, but I am feeling well on my way to being the strongest I’ve been in a while.

If I look a little stunned, it’s because I was 😳 This workout was deceivingly hard. I sat here to gather myself before driving home 👊🏻 Let’s just say there were burpees involved 💪🏻 . Anyway, day 3 ✔️ and week 1 ✔️ . I learned a lot in this first week and recapped my top 10 tips for CrossFit newbies {link in profile} . Bring it on week 2 💪🏻👊🏻

Running

With CrossFit 3 days a week (and two kids and a full time job) I’m just not running. Just not doing it! The plan is to get strong with CrossFit and start up running in March. I’m totally ok with that 🙂

Nutrition

To supplement the physical part, is always nutrition. I’ve experienced the different meal prep can make so I know that if I can commit to meal prep I’ll feel a huge difference. Especially with my busy schedule, I can’t be caught without healthy meals (and I can’t spend tons of money everyday eating out!)

Call to Action

Ok, here it is:

On Sunday’s I will prep energy bites, egg muffins, and one simple lunch for Monday (I prep the rest of my lunches during the week with dinner leftovers)

Doable, right? That’s the point. This call to action is simple, but will make a big difference.

What would your call to action be?

My call to action is the fact that my arms are tired a day after lifting with what used to be easy weights for me. Not. Ok.

What a way to set some goals and call to action. Hopefully Feb will be even better.

I love this plan! I’ve been getting back into meal prep. It’s such a time saver, and it helps me eat healthier.
