Summer is like no other season, and being a teacher makes it all the more enjoyable. Recently, the extended 4th of July weekend festivities led me to realize the healthy habits I practice in the summer were saviors for my health, fitness, and overall well-being.
Even if I overindulge, I find myself able to bounce back so much quicker because I have these tools in my repertoire.
This post is sponsored by Naked Nutrition, but all opinions are my own. My intent is always to introduce my readers to products/services that will have a positive influence on their health and wellness.
1. Move it, move it
Run, walk, swim, or jump on a trampoline (I happen to run)–but just move. Nothing gets your body firing on all cylinders again like actually using it. The most difficult part is actually convincing your mind to get up and do it.
2. Keep it fruity
Watermelon is our jam over the summer, but we are constantly cutting up fruit for go-to snacks. Enjoy in moderation if you’re watching sugar, but mostly I love it for a hydrating snack on hot days.
3. Find your favs
I honestly eat a lot of the same things everyday, but I’m good with that. As long as your favorite foods are ones of nutritional value to fuel your life, stick with it! I’ll eat eggs everyday, and pre-washed greens are the building blocks for lunch and dinners.
4. Hydrate
I tend to drink a lot of dehydrating liquids, soooo staying hydrated is something I always focus on. Water, and lately an apple cider vinegar lemonade keep my body feeling fresh.
5. Get Naked
Get your mind out of the gutter people! I’m talking about my protein powder. Summer gets me back into a training routine, and I am always looking for a clean protein powder–so I was psyched to come across Naked Nutrition. Instead of spending half my day analyzing ingredients I can be sure I am only getting 100% Premium Grass Fed Whey Protein.
I know my readers have a variety of nutritional needs, so check out the wide range of Naked Nutrition products!
During the school year my protein is super boring–usually mixed with water in my shaker bottle. But in the summer…
Besides the ingredient list, I love how light and airy the Naked Protein Powder mixes. I’ve always been animate that my protein powder have absolutely no junk.
So how about this for a recovery drink?

Great read! But I slightly differ with you on the sugar present in the water melon. Actually there is a lot of myth about sugar in the mainstream media these days. Our body processes natural sugar present in fruits and other natural food differently than processed sugar and natural sugar is a lot more healthier and required for our good health.
