It’s the time of year for reflection and gratitude, so I was definitely compelled to write a post looking back on the best of Fruition Fitness 2016. I’ve broken it down into different categories because sometimes the best performing posts don’t include my personal favorites, your personal favorites, or any of the above! This activity was great in making me reflect back on not only my year in blogging, but what I was going through personally and athletically throughout the year–and this is the first step to setting goals as I move forward!
Most Personal Posts
I don’t often open up too much on the blog, but if you read closely, these posts reveal just a little more than the rest…
1- Global Running Day Interview: A look into my miles
2- 5 Simple Tips to Get Your Running Back On Track
3- Sunday Runday Funday
Favorite All-Time Posts You Probably Have Never Read
I’ve had Fruition Fitness since 2010, but I had no idea what blogging was back then. I just had some fitness articles up on a static page (I was a certified personal trainer back then), and every once in awhile wrote something because I felt like it. Around that time, I was also peaking athletically so I wrote about some amazing experiences! These are actually all posts related to Ironman Louisivlle–an experience I never got to share with you in real time! These ‘posts’ are just snippets into what I was going through at that time when I was embarking on the most intimidating athletic experience of my life:
1- One Month From Today
2- Ironman Reflection: Anything is possible
3- Ironman Louisville Race Report
Most Commented On Posts Published in 2016
I guess these are the fan favorites? For whatever reason, these resonate with my readers and you all felt compelled to share your thoughts, advice, encouragement–whatever reason, I so truly appreciate the community of bloggers I belong to! I learn so much from you all and admire the work you all do everyday!
1- Power Protein Vanilla Berry Ice Cream + Bob’s Red Mill Giveaway from June of 2016 had 76 comments, but there was a giveaway involved!
2- Updating My Activewear with Wantable + a Fitness Edit Review from August of 2016 had 36 comments! It was definitely outside of my comfort zone, but I think readers knew that and were happy to see me go there!
3- On the Go Recovery and a Giveaway from BrightLifeGo also from last of August had 34 comments…another giveaway post, but also a post where I opened up a little as well.
Overall Best Performing Posts
These posts may not have been published in 2016, but they continue to be my flagship posts. The majority of my blog traffic comes from Pinterest and my top three performers are:
1- 3 Day a Week Running Plan
2- 11 Essential Tips to Recover Right During Marathon Training
3- Kodiak Cakes Berry Breakfast Muffins
I’m thrilled these posts are my top three! 11 Tips to Recover Right During Marathon Training was my first pin to go ‘viral’, so that was very exciting (it still brings steady traffic today!). My 3 Day a Week Running Plan I am super proud of because it is actually an old post, that I refreshed, added a pinnable image, and a content upgrade–after that it went crazy. Kodiak Cakes Berry Breakfast Muffins surprises me because it was early in my blogging career, and I still cringe a little when I see the pin. I’m too afraid to change anything since it’s doing so well, so I just let it be!
Next week I’ll be sharing my 2017 goals–personal and blogging–and I’d love to hear your thoughts on my past year. What did you like? What are you not so interested in? What would like to hear more of from me? Please share! I’m so thankful for my readers and I look forward to providing valuable content you can use in 2017!

I have so enjoyed connecting with you more this year. Thanks for all the fabulous linkups. I did read your ironman posts and am in awe of how someone can pull that off. I am working on getting better at my sprint tri this year and I am looking for some better training plans if you know of any I’m all ears.
