I’ve often raved about how there are so many races going on in my area that it is impossible to run them all! #runnerproblems! Many of my readers expressed just the opposite, so when I was approached by RaceAwesome.com to spread the word on their awesome (of course!) virtual races I was thrilled.
The thing that makes the Race Awesome event company unique is their mission. I won’t copy and paste their entire about us page here, but they believe in spreading the power of happiness. Their unwavering positivity is the underlying energy buzzing around at all their races—and it is contagious! Seriously, check out their about page for more information and even great tips for happiness! It’s impossible to not want to be a part of a race company that cares so much about the athlete experience 🙂
This season Race Awesome is offering two Virtual Bling Races. Virtual Races are a great challenge for runners who may not have the availability of local races every weekend, but still want to be involved with bigger cause and get a little bling for their efforts. Upon completion of the virtual race requirements, Race Awesome will ship the bling directly to you–and these are not your typical medals!
Race Awesome Virtual Bling Races
1) Run for the Hill of It 10k
Many of you know I ran this actual race and it is no joke! You may or may not have hills like this near you, but Race Awesome will accept a comparable hill workout on a treadmill! Just make sure you are climbing at least 400ft of elevation during your 6.2 miles–you need to earn your bling! This race will benefit a local chapter of Cops Who Care.
2) Ovarian Cancer Whisper Run 10k
This race requires just 6.2 miles! Run, walk, or run/walk…it’s all going to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
For each race, your stats need to be either emailed to Race Awesome, or posted to their Facebook Page–you will receive instructions during registration!

Race Awesome was so excited for me to share this with you guys that they are even offering a free entry to either of their virtual races. Use the Rafflecopter below to enter for your chance to be involved with either of these fantastic causes.
Have you ever run a virtual race?
I’ve participated in a handful of virtual races- such a great way to fit a race in when you don’t have a lot of extra time or there aren’t many available in your area (ahem, where I live). Great giveaway!

Thanks! It’s definitely cool to be a part of something you wouldn’t normally be able to do!
I’ve participated in 1 virtual race before. It was First Annual Feel the Breeze 5k to Benefit The Quinn Madeleine Foundation. Quinn was my friend’s daughter that they lost at 15 months old to Niemann-Pick Disease, Type A. I really wanted to run this race to support my friend, but the date and time did not work for me. Participating virtually was a great alternative.
I ran Race Awesome’s Ovarian Cancer Whisper Run 10k last year and really enjoyed it. I was unable to run this year due to a previous commitment. I would love to run this one virtually!
That’s why virtual runs are great! Good luck!
So fun! This would be great addition to my marathon training! Thanks!
Races are great motivation! Good luck!
I forget how lucky I am that I have soooo many races available to me here in DC! I’ve done a few virtual races, but they are so great for those that don’t have access to them! Very cool!
Yep, so lucky to have a great local running community!
