Everyone knows that eating smaller frequent meals throughout the day is better for energy, weight management, etc. But do you go as far as to actually schedule your meals? My husband would laugh at me when I would consult my watch before deciding if I was hungry.

Are you hungry? Check your watch! #WildWorkoutWednesday #healthyeating

I’m not as strict as I used to be, but now that I’m back to work as a teacher, I live my life by the bell schedule–and I like it.

Scheduled Eating Plan

My eating habits are now dictated by predetermined blocks of time, leaving no time for mindless grazing.

Here’s my sample schedule:

Keep in mind, I am NOT a nutritionist and my schedule is definitely not perfect.

5am- wake up and coffee

7am- breakfast on the go

8am- breakfast #2 at my desk

9:30- snack

11:00- snack

12:30- lunch

3:30- snack

6:00- dinner

9:00- snack/dessert

I’m constantly eating. Never more than 3 hours without food. Keep in mind, my snacks are small–especially morning ones since I have two. Over the course of the day I also have 32 ounces of water and more coffee.  I used to be super animate about having only one cup of coffee in the morning and drinking 64 ounces of water per day. Like I said, less strict. And the first thing you probably noticed (because it was the first thing I noticed!) was how the first time I eat is two full hours after I wake up–not good, I know.

So besides a couple of constructive criticisms of my daily diet, the timing is impeccable. Never hungry, always fueled–my body operates like a clock.

Keep your body consistently fueled with this schedule! #healthyeating

Keep in mind, I am somehow functioning without a kitchen right now (long story), so I’m dying looking forward to being able to create healthy options to share with you in a couple of weeks. 😉

Do you schedule your meals?

Linkup below if you have a workout, fitness find or healthy recipe to share! Just make sure to link back or grab the badge and we will make sure to spread the inspiration around 🙂

When I used to work outside of the house I had an eating schedule that I followed pretty closely….now that I am home I’ve gotten away from it a bit but I really should start it up again! I find myself forgetting to eat- YIKES!

My husband tells me I eat all day long too! I do have snack times approx scheduled in and I am not happy when I miss them. 🙂 When do you work out during the day in your schedule? Thanks for the link up

It’s been a quick workout right after coffee these days! Around 5:30am. Once we are settled in the new house, I’m going to incorporate running back in!

I love scheduling meals. It helps me stay on track with healthy eating and not just eat when I’m bored. I also enjoy eating small meals more frequently – probably because I just love to eat! haha.

I think it’s good to get in a routine like this. I’ve somewhat “trained” my body so that I can’t go longer than 4 hours without having food. So I’ll have breakfast 5:45-6:00 am, snack at 9, lunch at 12, snack around 3:30, dinner around 6:30-7. I think it makes a big difference!

I always schedule meals! I am like a baby: if I miss a meal I get cranky 🙂 I find that if I am on a schedule, I eat better and make healthier choices than if I just wing-it.

Your day looks awesome! I find myself needing more snacks on hard workout days. I love that you said you are never hungry, always fueled! That is certainly my goal!

I am pretty close to that schedule, I don’t like to go more than 4 hours without something. I try to not eat after dinner and only sip on green tea, seems to settle my tummy and make me think I am ready for bed 🙂

I don’t schedule my meals per sea, but I can’t go more than 3 hours without eating, that’s for sure!

It’s so interesting that you shared this Michelle. With nutrition you have to find what works for you. What makes this interesting is that I’ve recently learned a few things about my body that debunked so much about what is said about good nutrition.

This kind of stuff fascinates me. From a nutrition nerd. ha!

    Have a wonderful weekend!
