I had fruitionfitness.com for about 5 years before I decided to do anything real with it.
6 months ago, when I decided I had nothing to lose, I threw caution to the wind and dove in. So as part of my blogiversary week celebration, I wanted to compile and share some of the most important, simple tips that got me started. Look for a new tab where I’ll occasionally share blogging tips that have had a significant impact and I think are totally worth sharing. I really want to give back to bloggers, the same way others have done for me!
I’ve come farther in 6 months than I ever could have imagined, and without going into specific tutorials, so check out these top 5 tips for really new bloggers looking to get started.
1. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect
Guess what–It may never be. Do the best you can. Get started and adjust on the fly. Everyone starts somewhere.
2. Be passionate about your topic
If your passionate it will shine through in your blog. Words and images that weave your genuine life story are nearly impossible to replicate. Be yourself, walk the walk, and tell your story.
3. Form genuine connections in your network
Find your people. Twitter is a great place to search and network with like minded bloggers. Visit their blogs, read their content, and leave genuine feedback. Stay consistent and form actual friendships.
4. Research and learn from successful bloggers on your niche
Take note of what’s working for everyone. If everyone’s doing it, there’s probably a good reason. Research and implement popular techniques–and always continue to analyze your progress and continue to look for strategies to grow.
5. Experiment and take risks
Nervous? Good. Don’t be afraid to try new things–possibly out of your comfort zone. Be willing to give up the good to go for the great.
Feeling motivated? You’re not in it alone. Take these 5 tips and don’t wast anymore time…get your blog going today!

Thanks! I never really knew what blogging entailed before I started doing some serious research!
I have been blogging for about 1 1/2 years and have grown a lot by doing lots of the above. I would add be patient and don’t focus on the numbers. Be genuine and write about what you feel passionate about.
