If you found yourself addicted to sugary treats this holiday season, #1 I hope you’ve gotten rid of all the leftovers by now!, and #2, I hope you’re successfully on the road to a post-holiday sugar detox!

A detox doesn’t have to involve complicated diets or drinks, my sugar detox rule is simply two words–EAT CLEAN.

5 Steps to a Successful Post-Holiday Detox

Clean eating has always been my diet of choice (which has become a lifestyle), and it is always my focus when I feel like I may have veered slightly off course (like after the holiday season).

I feel great after following these steps for the past week and my body feels like it is back on track.  And the thing about eating clean and feeling healthy is that you want to keep doing it–you just have to stick with it long enough to feel results.

Detox your body with 5 simple tips and no crazy diets! #sweatpink #fitfluential

Have you started yet? It’s never too late! Start on your post-holiday detox right now!

1. Clean out all leftover sugary treats

Seriously. Time to part with the stale Christmas cookies.

holiday diet

2. Stock up on natural clean foods

eat less crap

3. Prep foods that are easy to grab during the busy week

Kodiak Cakes Berry Breakfast Muffins, hard boiled eggs, pre-portioned greek yogurt and crunchy toppings are just some examples. Follow me on Instagram for more ideas everyday!

4. Forgive yourself for not being perfect!

Rome wasn’t built in a day! Don’t expect to go from zero to perfect over night. Pick one or two easy fixes at a time and build on that everyday. Before you know it, you’ll be firing on all cylinders!

5. Invest in supplies to make your journey easier

I am OBSESSED with packing my food for the entire workday, but less than thrilled with my packing situation thus far. By the end of the day today, Amazon will have delivered some super cool goodies to my door–stay tuned for more on healthy, clean eating gear this week!

And the Bonus Tip?

drink water

Drink loads of water! I have been amazing at this over the years, but lately my coffee addiction has been affecting my water consumption! My tip for coffee drinkers is to always follow the first cup with a glass of water. I find when I do this, I actually want to drink more water throughout the day. When I don’t, or if I find myself getting too far into the day without enough water, I am noticeably less focused and even end up with headaches.

What are your tips and tricks for healthy eating on the go?

Great tips! I have to get the sweets out of the house. If there are cookies in the house, it’s over! I have self control over so many things… Christmas cookies… not so much 🙂

I am in detox mode myself after the holiday travel. I love #2 that’s usually my motto but having to eat out so much the last few weeks has been challenging. Thanks for the linkup!

This is great advice! I honestly am trying to eat all the cookies to that we don’t have them around anymore! I’m also working on improving meal planning and meal prep.

Yes yes yes! Before I left for Dopey, I went to Trader Joe’s, bought all the yummy whole foods, and threw out all the crap in my fridge and pantry. Now when I get back, I can kick it into healthy eating gear!
