You’ve totally bought in to this whole idea of high intensity interval training (HIIT).
HIIT workouts:
- don’t have to consume a lot of time
- Most HIIT workouts do not even require any equipment
- They are proven effective at revving your metabolism all day long
- You even have a whole Pinterest board with beautifully designed HIIT workouts
So why are you still not getting it done?
The Idea of Perfection
We’ve all seen the fitness models in their perfectly put together outfit flashing six pack abs. They’re on their mat, in their studio, sipping water, getting ready for their HIIT workout. Nothing personal girls–we wish we were you (if you even exist!)–but don’t be fooled into thinking you are them.
Drop the idea that your HIIT workout will ever look like this. Accept the fact that your HIIT workout may:
- be done in your pajamas
- be done hiding in your bedroom while the kids watch Mickey Mouse
- have interruptions called life during your sets
- all of the above
Guess what? My answer is d. But at the end of the day, I got my HIIT workout done and I feel pretty good about it!
There’s Just Not Enough Time
Really? There are effective HIIT workouts that take just 6 minutes, and 6 minutes is better than no minutes. Start small, reach success, and be motivated to carve out a little more time for each following workout.
